Eniyan Farms is a family farm in Dharmapuri district, Tamil Nadu. We grow vegetables and a few other crops, and sell them by the kilo.இனியன் பண்ணை, தமிழ்நாட்டின் தருமபுரி மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள ஒரு குடும்பப் பண்ணை. காய்கறிகளையும் சில பிற பயிர்களையும் விளைவித்து, கிலோ கணக்கில் விற்கிறோம்.
Who we areநாங்கள் யார்
Farming has been in our family since our forefathers. Today Kannan farms the land the natural way, chemical-free, with the help of the farm hands who join him in the fields every day.எங்கள் முன்னோர் காலத்திலிருந்தே எங்கள் குடும்பம் விவசாயம் செய்து வருகிறது. இன்று கண்ணன் நிலத்தை ரசாயனம் இல்லாமல் இயற்கை வழியில் பராமரிக்கிறார்; தினமும் வயலில் அவருடன் உழைக்கும் பண்ணைத் தொழிலாளர்களும் உதவுகிறார்கள்.
Our guruஎங்கள் குரு
Our guru and teacher is Alagiri Kandasamy. We are grateful for all he has taught us and for his guidance on the farm.எங்கள் குருவும் ஆசிரியருமான அழகிரி கந்தசாமி அவர்களுக்கு நாங்கள் நன்றியுடன் இருக்கிறோம். அவர் கற்றுத்தந்த ஒவ்வொன்றுக்கும், பண்ணையில் அவர் அளிக்கும் வழிகாட்டலுக்கும் நன்றி.
The landஎங்கள் நிலம்
Our fields lie around the family home. We know each plot by the name we have always used for it: near the open well, near the pond, near the gate, and north and south of the house. We water our crops from an open well. The land is surrounded by mountains and a natural boundary.எங்கள் வயல்கள் குடும்ப வீட்டைச் சுற்றி உள்ளன. ஒவ்வொரு நிலத்தையும் நாங்கள் எப்போதும் அழைக்கும் பெயரில் அறிவோம்: திறந்த கிணற்றின் அருகில், குளத்தின் அருகில், வாசலின் அருகில், வீட்டின் வடக்கிலும் தெற்கிலும். எங்கள் பயிர்களுக்கு ஒரு திறந்த கிணற்றிலிருந்து நீர் பாய்ச்சுகிறோம். நிலம் மலைகளாலும் இயற்கை எல்லையாலும் சூழப்பட்டுள்ளது.
How we farmநாங்கள் எப்படி விவசாயம் செய்கிறோம்
- We farm chemical-free.நாங்கள் ரசாயனம் இல்லாமல் விவசாயம் செய்கிறோம்.
- We plant in batches through the year. Every batch has a number, a crop, a variety and a planting date, written in our farm book.ஆண்டு முழுவதும் தொகுப்புகளாக நடவு செய்கிறோம். ஒவ்வொரு தொகுப்புக்கும் எண், பயிர், ரகம், நடவுத் தேதி ஆகியவை எங்கள் பண்ணைப் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதப்படுகின்றன.
- We grow many crops, not just one. Over the past year that has meant tomato, gourds, chilli, brinjal, ginger, radish and more.ஒரே பயிர் அல்ல, பல பயிர்களை விளைவிக்கிறோம். கடந்த ஆண்டில் தக்காளி, கொடிக் காய்கள், மிளகாய், கத்தரிக்காய், இஞ்சி, முள்ளங்கி மற்றும் பல.
